The Jonas Brothers is an American pop-rock band from Wyckoff, New Jersey made up of three brothers, Joe, Nick, and Kevin. They have released two albums, It's About Time in 2006, and Jonas Brothers in 2007. A Little Bit Longer will be released in 2008.
Music was always a central part of the brothers' lives while growing up. Both parents are musicians, and gathering around the piano became an essential part of family life.
In early 2005, Columbia decided to sign the three as a group act, based on the strength of their single, Please be Mine. After being signed to Columbia, the brothers considered naming their group Sons of Jonas before settling on the name Jonas Brothers.
The brothers toured throughout 2005, playing with the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney, the Backstreet Boys, and The Click Five. They spent the latter portion of the year on an anti-drug tour with Aly & AJ and The Cheetah Girls, and opened for The Veronicas in early 2006.
For now the brothers are just relishing in the experience of having other people hear their music live and making new fans one city at a time while they are on the road. 'We've known for a while how it felt to be on stage, but we never knew how it would feel to have people love music that we've written and which we both play and sing. It's very gratifying when fans come up to us after shows and tell us how much they relate to our songs,' says Joseph.
'We all have such passion for what we do and for our band,' explains Kevin. 'Our dreams have really come true and we're just so lucky.'
